Διόλου δεν έφυγαν Αναπνέουν ακόμη εδώ. Σαν τα λουλούδια την Άνοιξη. Υπάρχει το άρωμά τους. Αγριολούλουδα που επιμένουν.
Τι και αν ρήμαξαν τα σπίτια τους, βεβήλωσαν τα ιερά τους, έσπασαν τ αγάλματα με τη μορφή τους κι έκαψαν τα γραφτά τους. Υπάρχουν ακόμη εδώ!
Γκρέμισαν κι έφεραν στο έδαφος τους ιερούς ναούς τους. Ξερίζωσαν τη θύμησή τους; Όχι δεν έφυγαν ποτέ από τη χώρα τους. Υπάρχουν πάντοτε στη γη που τους ξεγέννησε. Διόλου δεν έφυγαν κυνηγημένοι. Αναπνέουν ακόμη. Το άρωμά τους υπάρχει ακόμη εδώ. Όσες γενιές και να περάσουν. Πάν Καρτσωνάκης

They never left. They still breathe in here. Like the flowers in springtime. Their perfume exists. Wildflowers that persist.
What if their temples are ravaged, their sacred places are desecrated, their statues are broken and their writings are burned . They are still here!
Their sacred temples were destroyed and demolished. But their remembrance was not washed out?
No, they never left their homeland. There are always in the soil that once gave them birth. They still breathe. Their scent is still around us and it will remain here for as many generations will pass through. Pan Kartsonakis
