"Secondo la leggenda una prima abbazia sarebbe stata fondata in questo luogo a secolo di Vita da Tanguy santifichi, su terre delle quali aveva ereditato, quell'espansione fin dal fiume del Caprel (havre di Brest) fino a che ar di Letto di Penn. Lui / esso avrebbe scelto un promontorio su questo luogo selvatico, isolato del mondo, vicino al mare che viene a fracassarsi sulle rupi. Generazioni di storici curvo sull'origine del convento, ma le fonti sicure perdono ed appare probabile quel Tanguy santo raggruppò circa lui i pochi monaci del centro iniziale del primo convento.

Le rovine che uno può vedere oggi non sono quelle del secolo di abbazia di Vita, ma quelli del convento Benedettino ricostruiscono nei XIes ed i secoli di XIIes. Questi sono i vestigi della chiesa abbaziale che è stata elevata da 1157 a 1208 e riveduto nei XIVes ed i secoli di XVes."
