Wow! The castle looks even more majestic from across the lake! What a beautiful shot!
There is so much going on here. Picnic tables, boats ( large and small) the delicate rock wall surrounding the lake, and is that a floating dock or boat ramp, or diving boards over to the left? The water has many waves and from the shot on Google Earth, it looks to be huge! I'm really glad that I don't have to cut all that grass too! That's quite an impressive slope out in front, wouldn't you say?
It is a wonderful place, and I feel so honored that you put this one up just for me!
Thank you so much for sharing this magical place with me. I have enjoyed it greatly.
Very best regards,
Mary Alice

Hi Mary Alice: the lake and castle do set each other off. The pontoons you see on the left are for boating purposes and there are a number of schools, outdoor centres etc who use the lake. It is quite dangerous for all that and there have been a number of incidents over the years. Local lore has it that there is an American Sherman tank in it's murky depths, a legacy from the Second WW when American forces trained here for D Day: recent surveys of the lake appear to confirm the legend :-)
This photo was taken from a tripod placed in the water: I couldn't get a clear shot from the open lakeside and had to fight my way through the shrubbery to see the uninterupted view. The things we do for our craft eh!!
Very best regards,
Séan.
