The photo is a house for the mine workers which proberly came from Italy, the stone work style would subgest this. There is more than one and they blend in the hills and hard to see from a distance.
Gee Caroline did you look at my early photos or what! so many comments and I believe we and other pamo tragics have been to the same places however all have seen/experience different things as it should be.

There is a story on newscomau about the top 10 ghost towns and there is a hotel at 'Artlunga' that is exactly the same brick and looks like it could have been built by the same builder as this one. I looked for Artlunga on GE but it did not come up.
