Thank you for the kind comment to the Rudkøbing Town Mill. This one was finished in 1820 and did replace an older one on the same spot from the 1600 years. It was active until 1950. Old windmills are very popular in Denmark, and the Danes have managed to preserve more than 200 of them... mostly privately sponsored, but also by some communeties.

The oldest secure evidence of a stub mill in Denmark is from 1259 and refers to a windmill in Fløng which is 8-9 Km. from my home. See for yourself in the Danish mill archive (in Danish)
