Yes Eva. They are used to practise removing wounded crew members from battle-damaged tanks. They also are used for target practice. There are many old tanks like this in Salisbury Plain military training area. If I can boast a little bit, this picture has been used to illustrate the cover of a new book about the Plain!

I've only just noticed your comment SashM so apologies for the late reply. I have a few wartime relics here (one of them is from Germany) and I've got some of old pillboxes and an abandoned WWII airfield that I haven't uploaded yet. When I do get them on Panoramio I'll tag them 'wartime relics' as well. Hope that helps. Best wishes, purdey
