Located on a large wooded estate, it was built in 1817, and enlarged and remodeled by the last Lamont of Knockdow, Sir Norman Lamont, in recent times" says a piece of information i have on Clan Lamont. It also says there is a castle too "Toward Castle is visible from, and accessible from the road A-815, running south from Dunoon. Distance is about 9 miles"
