thanks for your comment. It allows me to explain things a little further. Concerning the given building this is a really historical one. Thus it cannot be measured against nowadays categories. We look with respect at it, because it has lasted for such a long time and always found people who took care of it. That's why you can see it still standing there. Famous people in history are related to it with their personal history and thus adding to its meaning. It has little to do with the contemporary style of german buildings. After all the destructions of time and wars those kinds of buildings are considered a city's jewelry and belong to the national trust.
