Skardu city is surounded by sky touching mountains which have snow clad tops round the year. In summer the snow partially melts which forms brooks and nullahs of cold and fresh water. In the past these water courses were teeming with fish and other water loving animals and birds. Presently the water courses are unwisely being dried or polluted which is cousing damage to the flora and fauna of the area. Earnest efforts are requried to be made to save them for future.
