Beautiful place. I wonder if they use that car in 'Heartbeat'?

Hi Paula, I don't know but it fits the picture. My husband loves these cars along with Landrovers and any other that have a good character. I just like comfort, I'm not too bothered about what it looks like as long as it's clean, pale metallic, has good lines and of course an engine that never fails ;) Anita

Thank you very much Fai, I thought it was too. It's a little outpost of Englishness:) Anita

Hi artx, I'm glad you like the picture of the Morris 1000, It's a firm favourite with lots of people. Your favourite car is beautiful, what make is it? it looks very similar to an E-Type. Regards, Anita

A shade of pink has purely accidentally found its counterpark. Just ingenious, Anita.

I have the privilege of living at Fancarl House, and this is 1 of our Morris 1000's "RUBY", I have spent many "nostalgic moment" discussing with passing people, who stop just to "recall" the times, travelling in the dales and beyond, with the kids, dogs, granny in the back!!!!almost all finish with the comment "wonderful memories, how on earth did we do it?" And after nearly 50 years "she" can still do it!

Hi FANCARL, it's lovely to hear from you, my husband always commented on your car as we often took this route passed your house. He would look at your Morris and say they don't make cars like that now a days, it's got bags of character. I'm so pleased to hear she's still on the go and that she has so many admires. By the way, my husband remembers an old gentleman called Edgar Short who drove a vintage bus from Fancarl. Thanks for dropping by. Regards, Anita

I well remember Edgar Short and his lovely daughters Diane and Greta. It wasn't a bus. He had bought an old shooting brake from the Duke of Devonshire and we used to go on trips round the Dales. Don't think it had side windows as I remember being tucked up in travelling rugs. It was wonderful.

appletreewick LOL. I bet you were frozen to the bone on a chilly day, nothing like a bit of fresh air :) If it didn't rain so much nowadays it would be nice to travel around the dales like that again. Thanks for getting back to me, it's nice to hear from you again. Regards, Anita
