The wall testifies to generations who farmed this land. Now it is permanently set aside as an Audubon Sanctuary.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly how to find it. My wife and I had a memebership to the Massachusetts Audubon Society for several years, and visted the Moose Hill Sanctuary many times. The area is criss-crossed with stone walls and trails, and all I can say about this is that it is well west of the visitor's center.

It was shot more than 5 years ago, so I suspect it looks different today.

You came up our way. Should have stopped in. (I see it was taken before I ever posted any pictures to Google.)

JBTM, I lived less than 10 miles from here for the first 43 years of my life. I am a New Englander through-and-through, having more than a dozen ancresters coming over on the Mayflower, and more than 500 known colonial period ancestors. I can't open a book on New England colonial history without finding blood ancestors in it.

My older brother and I are the only ones on my father's side to ever live west of the Hudson River (even he lives much closer now, in New York), and there is only one ancestor on my mother's side born west of the Hudson River. I have had ancestors born, married, and died in all six New England states, and exactly one (on my mother's side) born in Wisconsin in 1855. Even that family returned to Vermont after that.

Coming to Minnesota was so monumental that the day we signed to sell the house was the same day the Old Man of the Mountains collapsed, and even the curse of the Bambino was broken so the Red Sox could win a World Series.

I have been all over the world, I came back here to spend my last days. My demise has taken longer than expected.

JB, I hope you consider that a good thing.
