Thanks for your thoughts Wojtek. I agree completely. Many of these old airfields have been built over. Others are still in use today either by the air force (RAF Northolt) or, like Bristol, have been made into proper civilian airports so it is good to have this one as it is to remind us of those dark days. By the way, I've just noticed that I had the position wrong so I've corrected it. This is the only runway here that still has all of its concrete surface. Best wishes, purdey
