Shouldn't the location of this pic be in West Seattle? Not at the Public Library downtown?

This calls forth the question whether you want the position of the photo's object, which is the Seattle skyline (the skyscraper buildings from 4th Ave are part of it), or the location from where the photo was taken? I believe most people want to know the position coordinates of the photos's object. For example, an aerial photo of the Space Needle would give us the position where the Space Needle is located and not the location coordinates from where the photo was taken (i.e. from an airplane a couple miles away from the Space Needle). I could add that the photo was taken from West Seattle, but the position on the map is fine. So, please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I don't agree...think there's an equal amount of people who'd prefer the position from which the photo was taken...maybe with a note telling you it's the photographer's position (to avoid any confusion)...In most cases it's pretty obvious if you look at the map, or sattelite photo in google earth...and it is less obvious to find out from which site the photo was taken...

Since I have to give coordinates, I prefer to give the coordinates of the intended object, which is the Skyline of Seattle. Unfortunately, I cannot give coordinates for the entire skyline, only for a specific point on the map. If people want to know from which location the picture was taken, they will inquire.
