La dicitura "vicino a..." viene generata automaticamente, e l'utente non ha nessun controllo sul risultato. Mi pare che venga utilizzato un qualche database di nomi di luoghi con le relative posizioni; probabilmente con qualche ricerca nel forum o nella sezione "Aiuto" di Panoramio puoi trovare maggiori informazioni.
