In fact it is a mix of diffirent ethnic groups in Badakhshan. Possible to meet people looks entirely European like Germans or Russians, looks dark like Indians, or even with white hairs like some people in Shahdara valley. Languages of different ethnicities are also quite different and they normally do not understand each other. Religion of the majority are Ismaili, but Jazgulami, who should be on the picture above are normally Sunnites.

By car from the Panj valley (Main road Kala-i Khum to Khorog) or for the mountaineers from almost everywhere! There are passes to cross from Vanj as well from the Bartang. You have yourself a nice collection of Pamir pictures!
