Helmcken Falls

Cal, we are planning a trip to this area to see the falls. Well, I'm doing the planning, so I get to say! I was thinking we would stay overnight in Clearwater ... there are only a handful of places and some don't look all that nice. Do you happen to know a nice motel or hotel? We're not all that fussy, something clean and well-kept would fit the bill.

Hi Nawitka: We are doing basement renos and my computer was cut off for a couple of days. When I was up at Wells Gray I stayed at the Wells Gray Ranch it is 26 km from the highway and a perfect location to enjoy the park. Cost was $85.00 per nite for 2. Just loved it. Dinner is a bit pricey $30.00 pp but I think it was worth it. Nice bar, great ambiance.

Hi Cal, thanks for the help, but I left too soon to see your message. We stayed at a little motel in Clearwater on Dutch Lake, which was nice, but yours sounds nicer. We really enjoyed the park, so I think we might go back and I'll definitely check out the Ranch. Thanks for posting this photo in the first place, or I would never have even known about this place ... what a jewel!
