Séan I'm so glad you like my big red full moon. It quickly lost its low horizon color, and I'm not sure what the banding is - possibly clouds? - but they disappeared as well.

Just looked at it again on full screen alicia and it's even better :-) the detail is excellent, the banding is beautiful and the blue sea stunning too.

Hello again Séan and thank you for the delightful surprise revisit. I wish that all panoramio photos would appear on first 'click' as the full-size versions, as most of them are not done justice in the thumbnails or even the 1st click size. This was a very quiet and beautful full-moon evening on the Puget Sound and I'm very glad that you can experience it through the photo ;). Cheers, alicia

Belated greetings, Tom and thank you for your critique and visit. This was a lucky exposure - it just happened to work out that the moon didn't get overexposed as it so often does. Maybe because it was such a dark orange so low in the sky. A wonderful night it was. Best, alicia
