Age estimate is too high, as giant redwood seeds were first imported in 1854 in the UK. Thickest sequioadendron now has girth of 11,15 metres (measured at 1,50 metre height). Highest has height of 54 metre.

Thanks for your comments, Arthurdv.

It seemed very strange to me as well, knowing the introduction in Europe in the 1850's. Nevertheless, there were several (pretty serious) internet sites stating this tree was already planted back in the 18th century. A bit of futher research brought me to the year 1775. But indeed strange considering the sequoia has only been brought to europe 75 years later...

Also, the girth of this tree is (apparently) 13.3m (on 1m height, standards of measuring, even in Europe, differ for one reason or another). I haven't had the occasion to measure it myself, since the tree is on private property.

THEREFORE:

(TO ALL VIEWERS): If you have any information about this tree ((real) age, circumference, etc...), please feel free to post it here as a comment! Thank you in advance.

(A TOUS LES LECTEURS:) Avez-vous des informations precises sur l' arbre (age, circonference)? Alors n' hesitez pas a poster une reaction ici SVP. Merci d' avance!
