A tectonic fault goes just through the middle section of the crater. The last volcanic eruption was ~ 300 years ago, today it is classified as a dormant volcano. The diameter of the caldera is almost 10 km, filled up to the half with a freshwater lake, called Nemrut Gölü. The average depth of the lake is 174 m.

Tényleg, remek fotótéma ! Sajnos, turistáknak kicsit veszélyes a környék, de 10 km magasságból biztonságos... J.
Gyönyörű és különleges fotó!
