this was built in 1922 and until it was closed down a couple of years ago was the oldest operating station in the US. it was named after a scandal in which the cabinet under President Harding was said to be involved. the government owened an oil field (name:Tea Pot Dome) in Wyoming and leased it under obscure circumstances to private oil companies. this is noted in the National Register of Historical Place the architect was Jack Ainsworth. my hubby grew up in zillah and visited this place often. he had to take me by there to see this interesting building.
