Red colour makes this composition more expressive, dear Marilyn! I like it!
Warm regards, Eva

Thank you, Eva. When I was a girl, my father, who took Kodachrome colour slides, always wanted me to wear a red shirt or jacket and to appear in his pictures looking at the scenery (not at the camera). So when I saw this fellow ...
Best wishes, Marilyn

That is so interesting to hear about your dad Marilyn and the 'red' thing. I must agree. You may remember a shot I took last spring of a kayaker on Beaver Creek Lake...I was delighted to see he was wearing a red jacket. It was just perfect! I must say though that one of the things that draws me to this shot is the lovely village in the background. It reminds me so much of my childhood in New England. I have a thing for white buildings hidden in green landscapes....and those lovely steeples! Great shot. Bruce

Of course it was the village that I stopped at the beach to photograph--but you can see that the touches of red and of human interest have attracted more viewers than the "straight" photo.
The village was founded in 1853 by a group of Norwegians who were members of the Moravian Church. The steeple on the right is that of their church; the one on the left is the Lutheran church that was formed early in the history of the village. Bruce, you aren't all that far from one of the centers of the Moravian Church in the U.S. It's Salem, N.C. The other major one is Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Thanks for the information Marilyn. I enjoy learning about the history of different places. I actually have been to Bethlehem many times and had a good friend that lived only a block from some of the original Moravian settlement. The Moravians have a wonderful heritage and many of the Protestant denominations owe a great deal to them. Thanks again. Bruce
