Thanks scenicplaces and Anne for stopping by and commenting. This was indeed a wonderful place to visit on a very unusually cool and clear day for August in Virginia. This mountain was once believed to be the highest peak in VA and interestingly enough there is a piece of rock from this mountain at the top of the Washington Monument in DC which I just posted a picture of a couple days ago!
