This is a row of weavers cottages in the village of Bibury. The village was described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England".
Hi Geoff I agree with William Morris (1834-96) It is one of "the most beautiful villages in England".
Seeing your picture reminds me that I must return on my next visit to England".
Excellent shot by the way!
He who dares take Contre Jour wins. gives the image lots of highlights, well done.
Thank you Ray, when you return be prepared for the masses, some of the Cotswold villages become very crowded, but I love the honey coloured stone cottages. Regards Geoff
I have to agree that Bibury is a beautiful place. The problem is that the world and his wife know it as well, hence all the crowds! There are lots of villages in the Cotswolds and Wiltshire, and Northamptonshire as well, just as attractive but much less well-known. These are the ones to visit ;-)
