Hi Gerry. It's always a pleasure to share a breath of Irish sea air with you! I love this one, nice catch with sun now, rain later!

Really spectacular shot of rainclouds! I would have thought that you were sending them to England. Best wishes, Fai

Fantastic.

I love the depth you've achieved.

I like the colors and tones of the storm that is far away.

Dann Cianca, on August 15, 2008, said:

Oooh, nice storm Gerry!

Dann.

Thanks folks.

Dann Not a storm, just one of our summer showers. I walked to the edge of it and back without getting wet. It's been a very wet summer though.

Inclusa Colours are often amazing in showery weather. The sea was a stunning green earlier but I missed the shot.

Fai and Nawitka you are very welcome to our weather.

Wet summer, eh? Good thing or a bad thing?

Dann.

Very bad Dann. August about 2.5 times the monthly normal up to today and more to come. Lots of flooding all over the country.

I have sat looking at this for some time, Gerry, appreciating it. There are some minimalist elements in it that caught my attention, and I wondered whether the space of the sea was making or breaking the image. In the end the mood, the depth, the conflict between foreground complexity and background minimalism(the shadowed horizon) and the continuous theme of dangerous rocks in a placid sea (- the weather can change all that) led me to give this a "best of Panoramio" notification. Forgive me for my chatter, but I decided to tell you what your work was saying to me.

Warm regards,

Ian

Thanks Ian. It's always interesting when one of my images stimulates a reaction. Thanks for that! I do enjoy the sea when it is quiet, knowing that at another time the same location would be extremely perilous!
