This was one of the highlights of my hiking years. We (my wife and 18 month old son) did the four-hour ride down to the bottom on horseback and spent several days camped just below the second falls. The last evening it rained all night and the water changed from blue to brown. We spent the night worrying about flash flooding that the area is known for.
Hey dsbemus, It is a great trek down to the falls. My girlfriend and I backpacked the 10 miles. It is a great spot, so beautiful it takes your breath away. Not something you easily forget. Glad you had a good time as well. All the best, and thanks for the comments. -Andy
