Are these rocks in the woods? How big they are? I've never been in a place like this, I hardly can imagine it....

Christophe Van Hulle on August 11, 2008

These are indeed rocks sticking out of the rain forest, Hajex. They are called pinnacles and are razor sharp. I don't know how high they are exactly but it is quite something. We had to climb the same sort of pinnacles to get to see the ones on the picture. It's quite a steep climb but there is a 'path', complete with ropes and ladders to cover the last bit. Thanks for your visit. Greetings from Belgium, Christophe

Very cool. I've seen photos of a similar rock formation in Madagascar.

Christophe Van Hulle on March 4, 2009

Thank you for comment, phacelia. I didn't know that Madagascar had similar rock formations. I will certainly check this out. Hopefully in your album? Greetings from Belgium, Christophe

great shot really Christophe:D I couldn´t visit this park when I went to Borneo but I´ll try in my next time:D

Christophe Van Hulle on August 31, 2010

Thanks for your nice comment, diego_cue. Pitty you couldn't visit the park as it must be one of the most beautiful on Borneo (and that means something). Next to enormously beautiful caves, the Pinnacles trek certainly is worth the detour in itself. A bit challenging tough :-).

Greetings from Belgium, Christophe

Greetings Fiala

Christophe Van Hulle on December 13, 2011

s a lot, Fiala. It's an amazing place indeed but don't underestimate the climb towards it. It's about a 2000 meter nearly vertical climb with ladders and ropes. The view is worth it though.
