Vladimir G.Korolenko (1853-1921) is a famous writer and Human rights protector. He protected in Poltava and its area all people despite their political orientation during the Civil war and up to his death. He lived last part of his life and died in this house. His daugter organized and kept this museum (and evacuated it to the Ural during II WW, then brought back) until her death. Now this is a State Ukrainian museum, very well preserved, protected and develloped by its staff and its director Boris S. Bozhko.
