Thank you Luud, there is a pub just around the corner, It may have looked very real to the people who have had too much to drink. Maybe they saw more than one elephant;) Kind regards, Anita

It was so thoughtful of the owners to provide a water butt for him. Amusing photo Anita, the folks round there have a great sense of humour,

Is it 'scarecrow' time in that neck of the woods yet ??---Cheers---Jim

A.SKINNER, on August 22, 2008, said:

I think it was last weekend Jim, we passed through Kettlewell and there were some funny looking characters about the place and the cars were choc-a-block. We had been higher up the dale searching for the sun but no such luck. I took a couple of dull photo's. If I had known the scarecrows were on I would have gone there earlier. Cheers, Anita

AXOTA, on August 22, 2008, said:

Yeah, that's the story for this year Anita, cloud upon cloud. I was sooo lucky to get some sunny shots in last week. It is golden glow time now that summer is almost finished.(it never really started). Kettlewell is just one of those popularist places that one tries to avoid. The secret is, knowing when to go. Like whitby, its the early bird etc etc.. I cant even get out of the road end in my car after 11am. It remains so until 6pm. I live too close to those traffic lights that control the tee junction into town. You know the one I mean. It is much easier, and nicer to walk, it only takes 5 mins.

Cheers Anita.

You don't know me, but I heard an old joke about a man who claimed to have shot an elephant in his pajamas while on tour in Africa in his youth!

I said to him,"What was the elephant doing in your pajamas?" !!!!

Cheers, marra, keepahaad!
