At the south end of Ninty Mile Beach, looking north. This part of the beach is along the beachside community of Ahipara. The locals know to only drive on the beach at least two hours after high tide, or no later than two hours before high tide - the sand has been known to swallow up cars as the sand liquifies before the tide arrives.
