Hello Jim, This is a beautiful old building nicely captured with a really nice atmosphere to it with the fishing boats in the foreground and all the fishing gear stacked above. A kind of homely feel for me as I am originally from the fishing town of Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island, New Zealand. I would love to come to Whitby and meet some of the "Ancient Mariners".

Best wishes from Sumbawa, Indonesia, John

Welcome John , I enjoyed your excellent feedback. You will know well the sights and sounds (and smells) of a busy fishing port. Unfortunately, fishing is in decline here due to over-fishing. Modern methods, powerful trawlers bristleing with all the latest navionics, plus 3D SONAR have given the Skippers a massive advantage over the fish. Much of the catch is discarded, dead, in the hope of catching bigger and more valuable fish. No wonder there is a problem.

I am sure that you would be amongst good company here John, there are many good old yarn spinners just waiting to 'catch' their next listener. ;)

Best wishes to you.
