This postbox is unusually small. I'm not knowledgeable about such things but it may be an example from the earlier years of Queen Victoria's reign.

Thanks Eva. It is still in use but a couple of years ago it had to be taken out of service for a few weeks as some small birds moved in to make a nest! Best wishes, purdey
