Remember as a kid and with friends finding the holes in fence. Way back in 1950's to get in and watch WPI vs: Coast Guard, that was the big game. Field had a gray track around it way back then, maybe 4 lane. After halftime you got in free as a kid. Bancroft Tower can't be seen in picture but it's up top of hill in background.

WPI ia a super engineering school, was and is one of tops in the world. It's first name was "Worcester County Free Institute of Industrial Science", that goes back to the 1860's. And had free education for students in Worcester county, others students had to pay. All students worked at the schools shop making things sold and thus free education. The Shops built things, real hands on things, had a foundry and machine shop, hi-teck in the 1880's.
