Kamaly. Way to go. I have tried for this shot for a long time but they are usually blurry. This is Fantastic. You have captured everything here, their neck, beak, body, leg's,feathers and flight. Well done Kamaly. I see them everyday and have not been able to get a picture like this. Nice One...Zoe

Thanks so much, zoe ! But this one was pure blind luck!! Who'd have expected a heron flying this low about 50 feet away over the beach?! And I was taking those shots of the dark rocks, and luckily on aperture priority, so when I looked up and realized that was no seagull, the bright sky made for a nice shutterspeed so this isn't the typical blur. My main regret was that there just wasn't time to zoom in. I just could look up, GASP! and shoot.

Nice one Kamaly! "Luck fayvors da prahpayrt, dahlink" as Edna B. Mode would say.

Thanks, Nawitka and Guy !

Nawitka: Poor me, I had to look up who Edna Mode was! But at least I looked up when this was flying by! Imagine if I was looking at barnacle covered rocks to hard I didn't even know it was so low and close-by - what a miss that would have been!

And Guy: there are actually several penguins in this, hiding behind rocks and out at sea!

Well, you have missed a real treat if you have not seen 'The Incredibles'. I'm serious. And Edna is voiced by Brad Bird.

Hi kamaly. I just posted a "that reminds me ..." from earlier in the summer. Remarkably similar!

Great! This funny-looking seagull is strangely photogenic! :)

Thanks, Jessica! It was so strange how low and how close it flew. Welcome back!
