Thank You! I'm pretty happy with it too. I've taken the same shot in the summer time, but then you can't se the shape of the fortress as well, due to the trees. Here during early spring you really can see it all.

A very fine and detailed photo of an area that was begun in 1626 and well kept. To the left is the Gefion fountain, in front of the English church, and in the lower right hand corner you see the Little Mermaid, sitting on her stone, as a small white spot. I have walked there many Sundays, but never seen such a detailed and excellent photo.

In the centre of the fortress: The yellow building with the green roof is the church "Kastelskirken" (built 1703-1704)and the red building at both ends of the church was the stateprison for "political" prisoners (1725 - 1850) - is to day part of the church.

Owner of the fortress - and the church -is the ministry of defence.

Thank you very much for that info. I thought it was in the old gunpowder storage that they kept the political prisoners. I can't remember were I read it, but I seem to remember something about that it was inhumanely cold because of the very thick walls.
