To the left is the Gefion fountain, in front of the English church, and in the lower right hand corner you see the Little Mermaid, sitting on her stone, as a small white spot. I have walked there many Sundays, but never seen such a detailed and excellent photo.

In the centre of the fortress: The yellow building with the green roof is the church "Kastelskirken" (built 1703-1704)and the red building at both ends of the church was the stateprison for "political" prisoners (1725 - 1850) - is to day part of the church.

Owner of the fortress - and the church -is the ministry of defence.

Thank you very much for that info. I thought it was in the old gunpowder storage that they kept the political prisoners. I can't remember were I read it, but I seem to remember something about that it was inhumanely cold because of the very thick walls.
