Granite Belt Landscape: Agriculture converted toTourism

This farm previously grew strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and cape gooseberries. Berry processing was established onsite as a boutique processor, producing a range of syrups, jams, coulis, poffertjes, fruit pastes, vinegars, fortified wines, savoury relishes, sauces, chutneys, kassoundi and vinegars. The processing and retail outlet became a profitable tourist attraction until the organization switched to buying in its fruit from local growers preferring to concentrate on the processing and tourist marketing of their products rather than agriculture.
