This wasn't a factory. It's Shaftesbury House which was a hostel for homeless men in the Leeds area. It was closed in the late 70's and I believe it's being considered as the site for new enviromentally friendly apartments!

broggers is wrong. it was later than the 70's as i moved to beeston in 80's and it was still a homeless hostle then and i knew someone who was living in it. i live less than half a mile from it. i say between 1988/91.

Shaftesbury house closed in the late 90's it was a hostel for both men and women opening in 1937. Built on the site of Hillside school playing fields and just over the road from the holbeck workhouse.
