This is the entrance/exit to/from the Talbot River section off/into Lake Simcoe on the Trent-Severn Waterway. The "entrance" to the Trent Canal (sic) is either at Lock #1, Trenton or at Lock #45, Port Severn.

Thanks Brine. I think a few of these Trent-Severn shots are misnamed or misplaced. It's very hard to remember exact locations on a long trip (Bayfield, Wisconsin to Montreal! - check it all out under tag "Prozac" or at www.carl-lee.com).
