Yes, this is part of port life and living in a sugar cane based economy. However, those sugar mills blasting the black carbon out are actually not as bad as the white smoke. This island has the BEST Rum in the world, Bermudez. I was there in 1976 - 1977, and the developement is a bit of a shock. This is someones private place isn't it? I remember the odour.
