Dover Castle from the Western Heights, Kent, UK

A view of Dover's Norman Castle taken from the Western Heights on March 15th '07 (about 5.15 pm).

There are three buildings on the horizon on the right hand side of the pic - the lefthand one is the remains of a Roman Pharos (lighthouse) built in AD 79, the two on the right are both part of St Mary-in-Castro (saxon).

The above photo was taken on the 'outer side' of the dry moats surrounding the North Centre Bastion, part of Dover's "Forgotten Fortress".

Dover Castle appears in "Dover in World War Two: 1942", a ten minute British Ministry of Information film, released by the US Office of War Information, and narrated by the American journalist, Edward R. Murrow.
