HI Kirill - excellent set of photos! I worked on 7th floor of one of these buildings for the ANZ Bank back in 1984!
Hello Kirill, The photos are excellent, but where did you get the name "Cossins Buildings" I have lived in Melbourne for 53 years, and I have never heard that name before.
to John Walkom: Thank you! Of course I was wrong! :)))
Brilliant Shots, well done.
These buildings are actually called "Collins Place"
Hi Kirill. As I commented in your other associated photo of these buildings, I stayed at the hotel very soon after it first opened. I was working for Volvo Australia at the time and was in Melbourne (from Brisbane) on business with my boss, a Swede out here on contract for a couple of years and who became a good friend of mine. After dinner we decided to have a few beers in the Atrium bar on the 35th floor. As part of group of eight or nine other people, we were seated on bar stools arranged around a baby-grand piano listening to an attractive young lady entertaining guests by her singing and piano playing. In the course of a conversation, my boss whispered to me that he was going to try to win the attention of this beautiful pianist. After she finished a particular piece, my boss smiled and graciously asked her, in his beguiling-to- women Swedish-English, whether she could honour him with a song, to which she agreed. He asked her if she could sing ".... (a popular song at time but the name of which escapes me after all these years). Her reply was, "Do you mean that tune I have just finished playing?" Hilarious!!!
