M, thanks. That link isn't quite right, but I copied and pasted. Helen's photo is great too and shows a different view. Almost like a different bird! Our cardinals are red all over. And much smaller. Well the males are red. The female cardinal is brownish.

This bird reminds me of our Cardinals in that they are both red and sit in bare trees like that. They are a welcome bit of color in the cooler days.

Yes Guy is correct. Although these Rosella can be found everywhere, both in the "burbs" and in the bush.
This is the adult version of Helen's [Juvenile] (http://www.panoramio.com/photo/13537070). They get these brilliant colours when they mature.
