Rosa believe me, I used my telephoto lens I was so scared! They remind me of Count Dracula's pets! I was afraid that they will fall on me! These ones are larger than the bats in Cape Town! In the brochure they say in Thailand you get bats with a wing span of 1.8 meters! Grossss!!!! Best wishes from your Pano friend in Cape Town! Johan

Groetjes, Jacques

Baie dankie Jacques vir die Golden Star en jou mooi kommentaar! Ja, ons noem dit "vlermuise"" in Afrikaans! While we were there (KRUGER PARK), I read that the biggest bat in the world has a wingspan of 1.8 meter! That is BIG! ..... and I hope I never have to encounter that one!! Greetings! Johan

I find this picture good as a photo, but horrible as a subject,Johan. Do you know that in the UK a bat has more right to the use of a house than the owner? LOL cheers scally

Thank you for your visit Sonja and the lesson Scally*! I did not know that, but in my house I have some bats but I am the boss!! Greetings again from South Africa! Johan

I thought this may have been the interior of your assigned room at a Safari Resort in Kruger, Johann - but I read that these are not your furry friends, at all. As they leave at night to feed, even if you were to sleep beneath them you would rest in peace! that is until they start returning in the early morning!
Kind regards,
Ian
H.J. van Zyl, on September 28, said:
Ha Ha Ian this was luckely an outside patio at one of the camps, I think it was Skukuza! No one dared to sit under it though! Friendly greetings and thank you for your visit and comments! Cheers! Johan Cape Town.

What an inusual shot Johan, I kept trying for a long time to make a shot in flight to one of these bats, but I gave up by the moment, maybe with a little whisky invitation would be possible :) About your comment on "faltal attraction",Johan, the tag "fantasía" means that those seagulls are flying towards the moon in my dreams only, nothing to compare with Laika. But I used the software of my Canon called Photostudio 2000 (not photoshop) only to put the seagulls in flight.
Best regards, good shot & thanks for your comments
