19 lightyears to which planet?!?

Ainars M -2 on September 23, 2008

How about planet K-PAX? :))

©Würmer on September 24, 2008

Do you recall the exact time and date, Ainars?

.ps. here the review by a friend of a friend

Ainars M -2 on September 24, 2008

To recall "exact date and time" for what? Dates when I seen this film in first time?

K-Pax and Groundhog Day is two of my top favorite movies.

I love ideas included in these two films - if we meet aliens one day, and discovered(?) then they looks exactly like we are - "earth peoples" then how can we distinguish them from us? What if only proof recipe then will be: "..they are, of course, much more intelligent than we are.."? Might be whole army of aliens are spread around our World and we are too busy with our regular tasks to search and uncover them?

And what if we already living same day (might be whole human life cycle) again and again? (Some call that process "reincarnation") and there is no chances for us to make one step out of this Matrix? How we can make sure we are not nuts and bolts from big machine?

Oh, obviously I was already visited by this guys from planet "K-PAX".

Great photo of "alien ship" and accurate crop circles, indeed! :DD I read all comments under Your photo and like very much the one where You mentioned ZZ Top! :DD

Meanwhile, do You know than scientists recently found "Water on Mars?

©polytropos on September 25, 2008

well, one needs to know the exact date and time to determine the earth position when one has to "look straight up" to see K-PAX... right ?!? ;-)

two favorite movies: ... and Groundhog Day

absolutely hilarious (in American English, I'd call it "a riot!" :)

Ouch, I missed Your recent uploads! :(

...can we actually expect to be able to handle "the flood", when Pan'ramio REALLY starts working in the (near?) future?

Ainars M -2 on October 3, 2008

to ©bartowian: no I have forget asked exact time and date. :( I remember, that was somehow connected to early morning time and first beam of light. Right? K-pax'ians travel with beams of light, right? :)

But I remember "another popular traveler" - Mary Poppins! I remember for sure, she come and goes "when the wind changes". :)

"..can we actually expect to be able to handle "the flood", when Pan'ramio REALLY starts working in the (near?) future?"

My opinions on this - nothing special and nothing curious happens there. No "floods", no "coming back to last year rhythm". :( Meanwhile, p-mio is healed and goes faster, now I can edit tags, reply comments and all this appears immediately updated correctly on my screen.

Life is life, we all changed over time. P-mio as service now is different (I mean, if nowadays situation is compared with situation rolled two years ago).

When I joined p-mio my first photos was with numbers 200k. Today my uploads is hold in row numbers ~ >14,5 million. Same geometrical progress thing is with numbers of users. We can not (I can not) follow every new upload (I wished for), even if I will stay online 24h. :(

Favorites? I have no time to roll back my previous saved favorites, despite I know - those was great photos and worth to review again. Keeping favorites is something like VHS recording great TV shows to review (might be review!) later.. :(

Sounds pessimistic?

First of all, for me P-mio is great fun and great time spending (as long I have free time for my hobby) to participate there and exchange jokes (and serious ideas too) with You and with others from Rushless team.

yes, Ainars, at least now the basic P-processes seem to function fast(er) and more reliably. The interface is "functional" in a basic way, but I had seriously hoped that it would have gotten vastly improved by now, a year later. But I'm not inclined to seriously look for "something better" - and I haven't come across anything better by accident yet.

So while things are improving "here," The Real World (tm) is going to hell all around us... oh well "...but the bits were free!" ;-)

Have a pleasant weekend, friend.

Ainars M -2 on October 4, 2008

Thank U ©bartowian, I wish You pleasant weekend too. Local weather forecast promises for next week much more sunny days, so I will walk city park and try capture autumn colours.

Old?!? Look the mine!!! Your photo is fantastic. Greetings, Luis Duro.

Ainars M -2 on October 4, 2008

Well, You 're right. :) Your sample is older, no doubt.

I named my sample "old style" because it is about 100 years old or younger. This style poles was first ones to set distances in Latvia in kilometers and later (in ~1970~1990) been replaced with new style markers. Not many samples like this is yet preserved.

I show you one from Switzerland of the Napoléon period, about 200 years ago.

100 years? Well, your "old style" is also old :). Greetings, Luis Duro.
