LOL, so is this the same bird as in marbiz's page, or did the two of you have a competition to get a shot of one? These are such pretty birds!

Hi Kamaly. Yep, same, fairly common water bird. I encountered this one on my short sojourn on the coast of Victoria last week (about 5 hours away from M's). I've had no luck with them and usually score a shot of their rear white under feathers, hence dianne's comment. They are pretty so I persisted- now I'm "over it."

OK then, so where are the photos of the birds showing the white rear under feathers, I have not seen that, even though it is common sight to you! Let's see some!! please.

Hello Jean. I think I have deleted them all they were pretty bad. They do look quite cute with a little triangle of white feathers.
