Dear "ramanning", Glad you like my photo. I'm sorry to learn that the Post Office in Clynnog Fawr has closed. I took the photo whilst on a family Easter holiday in the village in 2004. At that time, if memory serves me rightly, the PO served the village well with newspapers and groceries etc. as well as providing services for the local pensioners, the post and state benefits and licences. If it was anything like the PO in the former industrial village where I live, it will have also acted as something of a forum for village opinion and debate! Yet one more instance, as I see it, of Governments of all complexions sacrificing the needs of ordinary people, and the jobs of postal workers, on the altar of the profit system at the behest of the financial oligarchy in the City of London to whom they are beholden.
