The first 10 years of my working life were spent as a glass decorator. The old traditional processes have now been replaced by self adhesive vinyl.
skida nice photo.. your work on the table looks beautiful!! kat
Thanks kat. This would be around 1975 and the horrible pullover suggests it was winter. The heating there was practically non-existant.
Hi, skida, I just want to post this for you to read on your own site....YOU SAID SHE WAS GOOD! when you both came ower to see me.
I think spuggy does a great job!(being alongside you, something must have rubbed off)
That's not to detract from your lovely pics mind, both of your swtuff will sit well together, I am sure. I can make judgements too now, (thanks to your tutorage) I hope you feel proud, you both deserve it, mate
Best Regards, Mike
spuggy is certainly getting quite adept at spotting the shots Mike. She keeps me on my toes.
I'll bet she does!!
It' good to have someone to do that,I think it makes you think a bit more, don't you?
My other halfs(in no particular order) would only say things like-hurry up, I'm bored, it's cold, do you want to eat?
All in a similar monotonous tone , until I got the message.
Enjoy the challenge, but don't fight, you know it will end in tears!
After I finished my apprenticeship ar Reed Millican in Gateshead, I moved to London and worked for T & W Ide, who were famous for glass bending. I guess you worked for Doultons or Bradford Glass.
I miss the satisfaction of the job but not the freezing cold factories.
