Interesting spiders Billy! Where did you find them? And how did you make them to be so patient and posing for you?

Billy B@rk, on August 29, said:

Cheers Mira. Actually he didn't stay still for long. I must have taken about 15 shots, most of them out of focus! :)

Well, at least one of you were patient! I can see that you enjoyed his company on the park bench. Cheers, Mira

Oh no she won't!! You have some very strange looking spiders in scotland Billy! It looks like a crab! Not scary! It only looks to have 6 legs! I had one in the house the other day like a dinner plate, too big to be sucked up by my spider vacuum, so I was forced to squash it, I couldn't risk it getting in my bedroom, uuugh! Did well to capture this one though :D

Nice one Jim. :D

I'll kill any insect in my house if I have to but I was brought up never to kill spiders as they kill other pests. I suppose that is why the superstition about it being unlucky was invented. I'm not surprised you didn't want it in your bedroom Paula after reading what happened to Jim. :S

Wow! This is absolutely stunning, Billy! So sharp and clear! Was this a small spider? You must have got pretty close to it to achieve such a fantastic result! Greetings, Anne

Billy B@rk, on August 30, said:

Thanks for the very nice comment Anne. It couldn't have been much more than 20mm long. I know spiders here aren't dangerous but I still don't like the feel of them on my skin although I was very close I was happy to have the camera between us! :)

Wonderful head-on shot, Billy. I'm partial to spiders and have a number of shots. I hadn't heard the superstition, but now I have a good excuse to let them live! Cheers from the buggy tropics! Mary

Billy B@rk, on September 5, said:

Cheers Mary. I had a look online to find out more about the superstition & found this: Superstitious people probably don't kill spiders because it has been unlucky since a spider spun a web over baby Jesus to hide him from Herod. That was just one of many theories. :)

Greetings Billy, I think you made him angry and he is contemplating how he is going to eat you. Run away!

Cheers,

Cheers Diana. I liked the colours too. Most spiders in Scotland are dark coloured. :)
