The people of Holland make good use of every available space (looking down from Google Earth at the long lines of houses and boats)Your photo captures wonderful colours.
Strangely enough this is a man-made landscape. People used to dig for peat (fuel) here. Peat is muddy and very wet so they had to put it on strips of land to allow it to dry before they could use it. Those are the strips you see here. Now it is a very expensive housing location for rich people.
