Sorry, I do not speak Spanish, but I have been to Lanzarote. This photo is not of a plantation. The holes are meters deep and were made by miners looking for opals. Some of the holes have filled with earth, so like in Lanzarote the water is directed into the hole so some plants grow in this very dry environment.
