This washed out photo shows Hen Island at the top, and the gravel bars breaking the surface of Lake Erie are called the "Chicken Islands".

Even in this poor photo you can see many areas of shallow water and reefs.

Many "Imprudent Mariners" will "find" some of these low water areas this summer season.
